Come Closer

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. – James 4:8 (NLT)

God just wants you close. He wants you to draw near to Him. But if your struggle has been anything like mine then you’ve probably gotten to a point where you’ve lost the zeal to draw close to God. Now the awesome thing about God is that we can have a relationship with Him just like any other relationship we have with people in the natural realm. But also, just like natural relationships, our relationship with God can deteriorate if we don’t stay in constant communion and fellowship with Him. Our relationship with God can also dwindle if we don’t have a desire to spend time with Him.

Why So Salty?

Now-a-days no one would like to categorized or referred to as “salty.” For those of you that may not know what the urban definition of salty is, it pretty much means that you are “bitter, upset, jealous” or any other synonymous word you can link to it. But the truth is, being salty is actually a good thing according to Matthew. So how can one be “salty” in a good way?

Interesting title huh? I thought it was if I say so myself. These past 2 years have been a great test of strength, endurance and personal growth for me. I’m pleased to say I’ve come such a mighty long way in my “intimate walk” with Christ. (Still have a long way to go though of course.) But I say intimate because although years ago I would say I knew Christ, lived for Him and loved Him, I didn’t know Him intimately. And that’s the most important part.
