You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. – Matthew 5:13 (NKJV)
Now-a-days no one would like to categorized or referred to as “salty.” For those of you that may not know what the urban definition of salty is, it pretty much means that you are “bitter, upset, jealous” or any other synonymous word you can link to it. But the truth is, being salty is actually a good thing according to Matthew. So how can one be “salty” in a good way?
Jesus paints a pretty good picture of how we should lead our lives as people of Christ. We should be set apart to set an example for unbelievers. But if we’ve lost our saltiness how can we expect to win souls? If you’ve stumbled along the way, don’t worry the Lord has not forgotten about you. Just get back up! Seek Him and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. God will speak as long as you seek. Just remember that someone, somewhere is depending on your obedience and faithfulness to God. So join me as I tackle maintaining this high sodium diet. But unlike the natural sodium this diet will have amazing benefits.
Peace and love.
You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. – Matthew 5:14-16 (NKJV)
