If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. – Proverbs 3:24 (ESV)
Every week Monday through Friday I receive devotionals in my emails. When I get in to work in the morning, I usually start my day off by reading them to help me get through that day. One that has stuck out with me is about the f-word. The FAITH word…lol
Here is an excerpt from that particular devotional. I can’t recall what the title or name was but I believe it was by Mary Southerland from one of the “Girlfriends in God” devotionals. You may have heard this before too. Hope this inspires you like it has inspired me. (This particular devotional referenced when the Israelites had to cross the river in order to get to the promise land.)
Don’t wait until you believe it all.
Don’t wait until you can see it all.
Don’t wait until you understand it all.
Trust God and step out in faith. He will meet you there.
Many times we don’t see a harvest when we feel we should, so we assume that either God has forgotten about us or He just plain doesn’t want to do it. Some may even feel that God is just going too slow and may need some of our help. Either way, during those times, we will just have to sit back, wait and trust that our harvest may be delayed but it’s not denied.
It won’t be easy. There may be times, like me, where you get frustrated and discouraged but you have to keep holding on. Don’t lose your faith. You’ve come too far to give up and walk away now. Keep trusting God and watch Him move on your behalf in better ways than you could have ever expected or imagined. That’s what I’m going to do.
Peace and love.
When I am afraid, I will put my trust in You. In God, whose word I praise, In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid. What can mere man do to me? – Psalm 56:3-4 (NASB)
