Give Him Your Heart

“For Your glory, I will do anything. Just to see You, to behold You as my King.”

Too often I’ve caught myself desiring more of God’s hand and not His heart. I’ve allowed my circumstances to compromise my fellowship with Him. I would get so caught up in what God promised, what I expected to see and the fact that I wasn’t seeing it to affect my praise, my worship and my prayer. But I didn’t realize that if I would just seek Him all of those things would be added unto me anyways. (Matthew 6:33) It may not happen when I wanted it to, but it would surely come and would not delay. (Galatians 6:9) But let’s be real, you don’t just have a desire to chase after God’s heart overnight. It’s a process. And sometimes God will allow you to go through to see where your heart really is. Boy, boy, boy I’ve failed that test plenty of times. But thanks to my gracious God, He picks me back up, dusts me off and brings me back into fellowship with Him. Dusty and all, as long as I’m willing.

So I encourage you today to get back in right fellowship with God. You know where you’ve been lacking and have started to fall short. You know what God is expecting of you. Don’t allow guilt, condemnation or shame to cause you to think that God doesn’t care. He wants to dine with you again. He wants you to sit at His feet and at the table of His presence. He’s welcoming you back with open arms.

You may be discouraged. You may be going through a dry season. You may feel like you’re at the end of the road with nowhere to turn but God will guide you. Take His hand and trust Him. But don’t become so infatuated with the promises from His hand that you forget to cherish and desire His heart. It’s a process. Just like a natural relationship, you can’t expect to know Him and receive from Him when you’re not spending time with Him. So choose to fellowship with God for real today.

Peace and love.

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28 (NLT)

P.S. I’ve struggled with having a desire to fellowship with God and knowing how to start. I was operating in religion-ship and not fellowship, reading the word and praying out of expectancy and not desire. That made it easy for the enemy to discourage and deter me from fellow-shipping with God when tests and trials came. Some of you may be struggling with the same issue.

I researched how to read the word, study the word, fellowship with God etc. I googled, I did this and that and nothing worked for me. So God revealed to me this very morning a process I will put into routine from now on. WORSHIP. PRAISE. PRAY. Maybe this could work for you too?

So here’s the deal:

WORSHIP

For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in truth. – John 4:24 (NLT)

Worship with God is amazing but you can’t just hop into worship and expect God to show up. When you worship you have to come to God correct. So what better way to usher in God’s presence to meet your needs than to worship Him?

PRAISE & PRAY

Sing about the glory of his name! Tell the world how glorious he is. – Psalm 66:2 (NLT)

Worship opens the door to God’s presence, praise and prayer will seal the deal. Once you’re done worshiping God with worship music, turn on some praise music and praise and pray to God! Praise Him in advance for answering your prayers even before the words can escape your lips. (Isaiah 65:24) This not only changes your mood but you’re now waiting in great expectancy and faith for God to move on your behalf. It’s that simple!!

No more religion-ship, just pure fellowship! Give God your heart for His heart!! <3<3<3
