Walking by Example

The greatest believers are those that remember they were once sinners. – The Real MaCoya

Good afternoon Ladies,

This past weekend I was scrolling across my Instagram in the popular pages section, when I stumbled across a picture of a female celebrity. One that is known for her assets instead of her assets, if you get my drift. I’m sure most of you could filter through many female celebs of today, take a pick, and she would most likely fit that description. It made me think about the power of example and how the number of positive role models are practically non-existent compared to otherwise “not so positive role models.”

I Gave it to God, Now What?

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. – Galatians 6:9 (NLT)

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. May you be filled with joy, always thanking the Father. He has enabled you to share in the inheritance that belongs to his people, who live in the light. – Colossians 1:11-12 (NLT)

Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying. – Romans 12:12 (NLT)

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. – James 1:2-3 (NLT)

God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. – James 1:12 (NLT)

As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good. – 2 Thessalonians 3:13 (NLT)

There’s nothing like casting your cares on God just to be like “ok what do I do next?” Trust me I’ve been there and it can really be a struggle. But according to God’s word, we keep pressing, praying, living according to the Word and believing that in just the right time God is going to move on our behalf! I wrote this short post to encourage you and to give you an extra push during your week. So don’t give up, meditate on the above scriptures because you’re too close to quit!

***P.S. We’re still waiting on God to move on our behalf on something that has been a year long process. I will make a blog post soon enough on how trusting and waiting on God can prove to be one of the best decisions you can ever make. So don’t worry I haven’t forgotten. I’m just waiting on God here!!! ;)***

Peace and love!

Behind the Will

Let go of the wheel so you can get behind the will. – The Real MaCoya

Many times, especially for me, I get caught up in my plans, what I want and expect to see and take place in my life. The truth is, I can’t expect everything to go my way when I’m supposedly submitting my life to God. Just like any father, He has plans for His children, so what happens when those plans clash with our own?

Food for Thought

Get off of social media and into your word. You claim you’re a Christian but your life reflects what you’re full of. Are you filled with the life and light of God or are you filled with drama from scrolling through social media all day. The proof is on your plate.

What have you been eating lately?

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. – Joshua 1:8 (ESV)

Overcoming Fear

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)

Have faith. Live in faith. Walk by faith.

I hear these phrases often, either through exuberant gusto or quiet whispers from myself and others. There are also times where I say it more out of frustration than encouragement, but either way I know that I am supposed to have faith. I NEED to have faith!

But I am at that point where I am tired of hearing about it, talking about it and praying for it. I want it to come, show up, take over and transform my entire life. But the truth is, there are circumstances that come, show up, take over and transform my entire life. And they’re not always good circumstances either. (Insert sad face here.)

Delayed Not Denied

If you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet. – Proverbs 3:24 (ESV)

Every week Monday through Friday I receive devotionals in my emails. When I get in to work in the morning, I usually start my day off by reading them to help me get through that day. One that has stuck out with me is about the f-word. The FAITH word…lol

Why So Salty?

You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. – Matthew 5:13 (NKJV)

Now-a-days no one would like to categorized or referred to as “salty.” For those of you that may not know what the urban definition of salty is, it pretty much means that you are “bitter, upset, jealous” or any other synonymous word you can link to it. But the truth is, being salty is actually a good thing according to Matthew. So how can one be “salty” in a good way?

Give it Up, You’re Exhausted!

Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken. – Psalm 55:22 (NIV)

Interesting title huh? I thought it was if I say so myself. These past 2 years have been a great test of strength, endurance and personal growth for me. I’m pleased to say I’ve come such a mighty long way in my “intimate walk” with Christ. (Still have a long way to go though of course.) But I say intimate because although years ago I would say I knew Christ, lived for Him and loved Him, I didn’t know Him intimately. And that’s the most important part.

Keep Pushing

But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. – Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Many times in life we get to a point in our lives where we are tired of waiting. We’re tired of hearing that “a change is gonna come and “it’s not over til God says it’s over.” The truth is, when we get to that point, then at “that point” we’re no longer operating in faith. We’ve allowed our circumstances to dimmer our zeal and great faith in God.

What Will Your Harvest Say?

It’s HARVEST TIME!

It’s always good to hear that whatever you’ve been working so hard for, praying for, crying for, believing for etc. is going to pay off soon. It’s a great motivator. It’s that extra encouragement or boost you need to keep moving forward. It’s like you’re running that last stretch and you’re 2 seconds away from passing out on the ground and giving up but that person comes up behind you and gives you a pat on the back and tells you to keep going. That’s what hearing that it’s harvest time does for me. What about you?
